My pops is 72 and I’m 27. Like our ages imply, we are opposites in almost every way. But, we share one intense commonality and that is our love of travel. My dad’s been a travel agent since 1947. It may have been awhile since he’s been around the world himself, but he does his best to help others get there.
He was born and raised in Gunnison, Utah. His life is full of fabulous exploits such as being featured in body building magazines, asked to star in Western movies and having been a pirate during one stint in his life.
The first time I left the country was when I was in third grade, and I’ve been in love with traveling ever since. My mom is Taiwanese and I have been back to visit family a few times over the years. Most recently, I spent the last 6 years living there, teaching English and trying to pick up some Chinese. And, of course, backpacking and traveling to various places in Asia. My own fabulous exploits include being a singer in a Reggae band, and a TV appearance on the Taiwanese version of American Idol.
This blog is for us to share our stories and tips about travel. Backpackers, and tour takers, listen up. I feel like I should follow that with a ‘yo,’ so , “Yo!” Anyway, I hope that whoever you are somewhere in this blog you find some entertainment or even helpful advice about traveling.
